I cant change my name?
You can only change the name on your Profile once (in case you have spelt it wrong when registering or similar).
There is no need for ANY manager to constantly change their name, and if we allowed them to do this then it could encourage cheating.
To compensate for the this there is a facility to create a manager nickname, which will be displayed next to manager name if chosen within your profile.

When are the Gold Setups created?
Prior to the creation of a Gold Setup we will let all managers know the time and date via the SM Info bar and the SM Blog.

When are Standard Setups created?
Setups are created randomly throughout the day by members of our community who have purchased them from the SM Shop.

How can I improve my players fitness?
The best way to improve your players fitness is by resting them, and this can be done by adopting a squad rotation policy.

How can I improve my players morale?
A players morale can increase due to some of the following reasons - the player is constantly playing, playing in his correct position, his club is performing well, the player is performing well himself or if the player is offered a new contract.

Can I delete my custom setup and create a new one?
You cannot delete your custom setup. However, you can release your custom setup from the 'setup admin' section. Soccer Manager will then control it for you, and you will still be able to reclaim it back at a later date. Please Note: You cannot release a setup and create a new one for free.

How can I delete my account?
You cannot delete your account in case you want to play the game again in the future.

How can I increase my clubs finances?
There are numerous ways in which you can increase your clubs finances, and some examples include transfers, success in the league and/or cup, and successfully managing your wage budget to name but a few.

How are the results decided?
Soccer Manager have created a match engine that will look at many factors (for example player fitness, player rating, player morale, tactics, who is home and away etc) to help calculate results.

I think there is a cheat in my setup.
If you think a manager has broke the Terms and Conditions or the SM Code of Conduct which forms part of the same then please send Soccer Manager a support ticket with full details of the manager(s) in question, and we will look into this and take the appropriate action.

My player is cup tied?
If a player has already played in either of the domestic cups or within one of the SMFA cups (within the Gold Championships) in the current season for a club, they are then cup tied until the end of the season for that respective tournament.

Why have the SMFA banned me from a setup?
If you are banned from a setup this is because the SMFA have reason to believe that you have broken the terms and conditions you agreed to when registering, and they will not reverse their decision.

There is a manager in my setup who never responds to my bids.
Unfortunately there is nothing SM can do in relation to this as we can not force any manager to participate within the transfer market. However, you could try to send this manager a private message, and if they don't respond then I'm sure they don't want to sell the player(s) in question. Also a transfer deal will automatically get rejected after fourteen days if the deal hasn't been accepted or rejected.

Why has my reputation dropped?
Soccer Manager will only reduce your reputation if you have broken the terms and conditions you agreed to.

Is there a squad size limit?
Soccer Manager recommends that you have a maximum of 100 players in your squad.

Can my youth team play any matches?
The youth team cannot play 'youth team games' however there is nothing stopping you playing your youth team in a normal league/cup game or in a friendly.

Why has my transfer been blocked from my chairman?
The chairman make their transfer decisions based on a number of factors which are designed to look after the best interests of both clubs involved. The chairman acts as a level playing field to keep the game fair and balanced. The vast majority of deals are approved by the chairman. Please note that Gold Membership does not affect the chairman's decision.
The chairman bases his decision on a number of factors which are listed below.
- Age of player (too young or too old is not good business)
- Value of player (too much or too little offered is not good business)
- Players Rating to the average squad rating of both the selling and buying clubs(selling a star player for less than value or poor player for more than his value)
- Size of transfer budget (spending all budget on one average player is not good business)
- Your managers reputation level (less than 40 is a potential unsporting manager, 40 is a new player and a potential higher risk)
- Manager's length of service (brand new manager blowing their transfer budget or selling their stars is suspicious and unrealistic)
- Both manager's past transfers (Multiple dealings between two seemingly unrelated clubs)

What happens at the end of the season?
At the end of the season clubs are promoted or relegated (dependent on their final league position), and there is a 7-10 day break prior to the new season starting. During this time you will receive prize money (dependent on your final league position), and also a cash injection from your chairman (dependent on your clubs current finances).

Can I transfer a club over to a friends account?
You cannot transfer clubs between any accounts.

Can I transfer setups to a friends account?
You cannot transfer setups between accounts. However, if you would like to purchase a product from the SM Shop for your friend then you can do so using the 'Shop Gift' facility.

I am going on holiday - What can I do to keep my clubs?
If you are going on holiday then you can activate the Holiday mode feature. However, you have to be Gold Member to activate Holiday mode, and this can be activated from the my home page.
